Human Resources Training & Development Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The HR manager ensures that human resource programs support the long-term goals of the organization. This position performs professional work overseeing a range of administrative functions related to human resource management, employee development and customer service. This position also conducts regular HR training for employees and supervisors.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Makes recommendations to management to address training and development needs of individuals. Ensures that management is appropriately trained to comply with state, local, and federal guidelines. Works with Director to create, deliver and increase effectiveness of Sakata’s training programs.

  • Development Program Identification, Administration, Facilitation and Measurement

o Establishes cross-functional diverse cohort groups for learning programs by working with HR leaders and business group managers to understand their development needs.

o Maintains scheduling and communications for various development programs (frontline leadership to Executive level).

o Researches development best practices and makes recommendations for augmenting Sakata’s development offerings.

o Devises ways to measure program effectiveness, compiles data to promote continuous improvement and makes recommendations for improvement in development programs.

o Provides data-driven insights on the overall engagement, satisfaction, and effectiveness of learning solutions.

o Lead key talent development programs, including mentorship programs, coaching, individual development plan creation and execution and 360 assessments and action planning.

General HR

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring and support to colleague’s and internal HR team members.
  • Advises management and provides recommendations on personnel and problem issues (that require escalation).
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and Senior Managers to best meet company goals and objectives and strategic planning.
  • Manages and leverages relationships with vendors for a specific product/service (best price, best product, etc.)
  • Maintains professional relationships with peers in other corporations and outside organizations.
  • Cross-trains to provide back-up in various HR functional areas, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while meeting company and department objectives.
  • Client focused, business partnering, and influencing skills.
  • The ability to work both strategically and operationally.
  • Verbal and written communications skills that effectively relate to all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least two years of training experience required
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification preferred

 

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:

  • Minimum 8 years HR or related experience required.
  • VISIO experience a plus.
  • Strong administrative background and experience. Working knowledge of Human Resource practices and principles a plus. Knowledge of Benefits Administration and/or payroll preferred.
  • Ability to handle stress especially when encountering necessary projects, deadlines and/or high workload.
  • Strong character traits required including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, and honesty.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work at a computer terminal and on a computer keyboard for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours if necessary.
  • Must be able to travel to different locations from time to time.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS :

  • Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 per year
